Current team member

I grew up in a small sunny town called Aveiro in Portugal, but I moved to Porto to do my first degree in Biomedical Science. As an undergraduate I worked at IBMC, Porto, with Prof Alexandre do Carmo, with a group of proteins that belongs to Scavenger Receptor Cystein-Rich superfamily and I immediately understood that immunology was the field that I wanted to follow.

So I started my master degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at University of Aveiro, Portugal, and I did my master thesis under the orientation of Prof. Alexandre in the signal transduction field. Since that I am still in the same lab and I have been working mostly with CD5, a T cell antigen receptor.

I joined the T cell biology group (a long term collaborator of Prof. Alexandre’s lab) in July 2015 as a visiting student to be involved in the running projects. Next year, I’m going to start my PhD with a fellowship to work in Porto and Oxford.
