Xiaoxiao Cheng
Xiaoxiao applied to study at the Davis Lab due to its reputation in immunology research, which reflected her own interests in the field.
Upon arriving at lab, Xiaoxiao remembers her first impression:
“I still remember the first time I arrived in the lab. The people were so friendly and everyone was talking to me, helping me not to feel nervous.” – Xiaoxiao
The supportive, friendly atmosphere continued for the duration of Xiaoxiao’s time at the lab, and over the years her colleagues became friends.
She found the lab a good place to work, with clear methods of working to ensure the environment was always clean and equipment was available when needed. Simon was also a source of good information and rigorous scientific method that Xiaoxiao has taken with her in her work today.
Xiaoxiao now works as a Postdoctoral Associate in Immunobiology at Yale University and finds the approach she learnt during her PhD days in Oxford invaluable in her current line of work.
